On an extremely windy evening Northwood started this Middlesex Premier Cup tie with real intent, and were constantly looking to release the pace of the forwards Yoro and Lansiquot. It was the former who coolly slotted home after rounding the keeper with just seven minutes on the clock.

Bedfont had pacy forwards of their own, and Fitzgerald was adjudged to have fouled their number nine, and a penalty was awarded, which tied things up at 1-1. Even with Fitzgerald generously allowed to stay on the pitch, another home goal was scored and Woods found themselves 2-1 down soon after.

Eight minutes later Aaron Lansiquot made it 2-2 with a great finish following a half-hit shot from Prince Alozie. By now Bedfont were causing real problems down their left side and after good work from their number seven they went into the lead 3-2.

The second half saw Yassin Fehmi-Gil replace Alozie and a more traditional 4-4-2 formation, which resulted in much improved all-round performance. Ryan Phillips hit the bar, Charlie Barker headed over and both Phillips and Lansiquot went close, but there were no further goals.

Despite the disappointment, Northwood's effort and skill were much appreciated by the windswept crowd, who were also probably a little deafened by the constant planes coming in to land almost on the pitch!
